Looking For The Best Mosquito Repellent?

Best Mosquito Repellent

Whether you are sitting in your yard or gardens, walking through the forest or country or just relaxing somewhere on holiday, you cannot ignore those annoying pests, the mosquitoes.

Finding the best mosquito repellent will become a priority if you have ever experienced the discomfort and irritation these small insects can inflict on you.  There are quite a few flies that bite, sting or suck blood and they are not all mosquitoes, but for simplicity we shall refer to them as such during this article.

So, what should you look for when searching for the best mosquito repellent for your needs?

In the garden or yard you may wish to have a citronella (lemon oil based) candle system.  There are made from either beeswax or paraffin wax with a percentage of concentrated lemon oil and are one of the simplest and best mosquito repellents on the market. Strategically placed around the yard, concentrating on the seating areas, you can create a wall of the pleasantly scented fly repellent very cheaply. The pests will not be inclined to swarm towards you and your pretty deck lights when these candles are burning.   For people with very young children who do not wish to have burning candles around, you can put them inside holders for their protection, or use the higher positioned garden spike variety. Perhaps you do not wish to have candles at all, or do not like the lemony scent?  Then for you another type of repellent is best for you.

The electronic gadget deterrent is a very popular choice. This will create a field of electronic noise which is undetectable by humans as it is such high frequency.  It will not upset your pets and is safe for all people to have around them. Some devices offer a variety of signals which deter different types of pests and you can choose the mosquito or flying insect setting. The sound produced will resemble the sound of the male mosquito wing beat or the dragonfly wing beat which are not welcome by female mosquitoes. They are one of the best mosquito repellents as they are so unobtrusive.  No smell, noise or any sign of anything actively being done to stop these flies... very ingenious!  They operate on a battery, solar power or mains. There will be a type for your needs, be it a clip-on version for buggies and strollers ( giving up to 30 feet coverage) or a powerful whole house and yard mains system or even two or three battery versions dotted about where you feel you need it.

Personal insect repellents are another good choice for people on the move. On the beach or in the forest hiking, or for those working outdoors where mosquitos may be present. There are many natural or 'green' creams and lotions which you can apply to legs, ankles and arms which are totally safe for you and your children. These will make you all very unattractive to the species. The problem is they do wear off with perspiration and swimming and they need constant applications. Certain tablets can be taken to make your skin unappealing which can be successful but results are variable.

The recommended best mosquito repellent system would be a portable battery operated gadget that you can clip on your clothing wherever you go. No mess or smell and providing you remember to stock batteries, these are maintenance free.

For a truly relaxing balmy evening around the campfire, or on the veranda, deck or porch in your beautifully lit yard, the last thing you want is to be plagued by mosquitoes that the light or fire can attract. The repel them ensure you have one of the above measures in place and you can rest comfortably in the knowledge that whilst lying in your recliner or steamer chair, tonight you aren't going to be bitten!!!"
